Sailing Beyond Barriers: A Day Dedicated to INCLUSION

24 August 2024 – Laghi di Sibari, Cassano all’Ionio (CS)

We celebrated Inclusion Day, an event that strongly demonstrated how marine and sporting activities are powerful tools not only for growth, but also for overcoming diversity and breaking down prejudices.

The event was made possible thanks to the valuable collaboration of Club House and the Italian Naval League of Laghi di Sibari, and was met with strong participation and engagement.

Why this event mattered

• Meaningful Exchange: Numerous associations took part, sharing experiences and concrete results achieved in the fields of inclusion and social participation. The event became a space for dialogue, mutual learning, and a positive outlook toward the future.
• Hands-on Experiences: The day was centered on participation rather than words alone. Our members actively took part in a range of activities, guided by experienced instructors - from individual sport fishing sessions to navigation aboard a historic vessel, followed by recreational moments that placed the sea at the heart of the experience.

The event highlighted how inclusive activities can encourage participation and strengthen a sense of community.

Awards and Recognition: a shared achievement

The Association acknowledges these recognitions as the result of a shared and ongoing commitment. They are not individual accomplishments, but the result of collective and ongoing teamwork involving every member and volunteer. 17 December 2017 - Certificate of Social Value, Globus Award 2017:

Less than one year after the start of our activities, we were honored with this prestigious certificate “for commitment to people with disabilities,” the only recognition of its kind in the region at the time.

2017 - Recognition Plaque from the Municipality of Scanzano Jonico:

In the same year, we received an official plaque from the local administration of Scanzano Jonico, acknowledging our continued social commitment.

December 2023 - Certificate of Merit, Globus Award

Once again, within the framework of the regional Globus Award, we were granted a Certificate of Merit for our contribution to the initiative “Safety and Video Surveillance in Residential Facilities for People with Disabilities.”
We sincerely thank everyone who believes in our mission and makes it possible, every day, to overcome new challenges. These recognitions encourage us to continue working with the same dedication and commitment toward a more inclusive Third Sector.
